Chicago Flooding, 200 Flights Cancelled
World Sunday, July 25th, 2010Chicago flooding after severe overnight storms occur that also caused flight cancellations and power outages. On Saturday morning about 50,000 ComEd customers were without electricity after heavy downpours and lightning hit Chicago overnight. And there was no clear information when the electricity would be restored because the storms were still hit the area.
Beside, made Chicago flooding, the storms also caused damage on the Chicago uptown before going to downtown in the morning, said Nancy Holst, CNN iReporter.
According to Karen Pride of the Chicago Department of Aviation, the bad weather made 200 flights at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport canceled on Saturday morning. On the other hand, there were no delays reported at Midway International Airport.
According to the National Weather Service in Illinois, at lease 6.2 inches of rain fell at Midway and 6.3 inches at O’Hare.
