India Offers Compensation

West Bengal state government has promised a bank account with a deposit of one hundred thousand rupees or 2,140 U.S. dollars, as well as job training and employment opportunities. “The government promised to look after them,” said a senior police officer Surajit Purkayastha Kur to AFP, Thursday.
“We will continue our struggle, but if any member of the Maoist group that wanted to surrender. We gave them the opportunity to change,” he added.
